Birdbones is a four-piece band based in Luxembourg. An innovative alternative prog-rock band with rock-solid pulsating grooves, pervasive guitar riffs and strong vocals with rememberable melodies, supported by a fat orchestration sound. Comparable with: Tesseract, Perfect Circle, Skunk Anansie.
Founded in 2010, Birdbones had an extensive presence throughout Luxembourg in 2011 and the following years. They played on numerous big festivals and venues like Food For Your Senses, E-Lake, Rock-um-Knuedler, Fête de la Musique, Rockhal and Atelier. Furthermore, they had the honour to open for acts like Macy Gray, Bush and Stornoway.
After a stunning start they released their first single “Every Single One Of Us ” (2011). The single was regularly played on the radio and secured the band a steady place in the Luxembourgish music scene.
A new chapter started in 2012 when the band introduced their new Dutch front woman, Romy Ouwerkerk to the public. With the new line-up they released their first album together named "Phoenix" (2013), which they took overseas and conquered the first price of the EUmusicmatch contest in Sardinia, Italy, where they left 300 european bands behind them.
They went to the Ghost City Recordings studio (Germany) the following year to record new material like their prog-cover of Massive Attack's “Teardrop”, which stood in the Luxembourgish Top 30 radio charts for several weeks.
Birdbones is preparing itself for the upcoming festival season 2016 (check out upcoming shows), plus continues to write for their 2nd album release in 2017.
